Elon Musk has officially changed Twitter’s logo to an “X” as part of his plan to transform the platform into an “everything app”.

The vision is similar to China’s super app, WeChat, which allows users to perform various functions without leaving the app.

WeChat’s success in China is attributed to its integration of messaging, payments, e-commerce, and other services.

Musk aims to create a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities within the X app. However, challenges lie ahead, such as fragmented payment systems and competition in the U.S. and Europe.

Turning X into a WeChat-like app may be a significant undertaking given the different internet landscapes.

Nonetheless, Musk sees the potential for Twitter to become a broader communication tool with added features like payments.
